Earlier this year, Michael D. Page, chair of the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), announced the creation of the Commissioners Community Circle Award during the State of the County Address.  The award is designed as a way for the BOCC to recognize Durham county departments, community organizations and programs for the outstanding services they provide to the citizens of Durham.  The BOCC is currently seeking applicants for the prestigious award.

The Commissioners Community Circle Award, based upon simple selection criteria, is given to organizations that exhibit excellence in the areas of productivity, creativity and commitment to citizens.  Recipients of the award have proven to provide services to help improve the lives of citizens and the overall enhancement of the Durham community.  The BOCC will present a certificate of recognition to a selected organization at each BOCC Regular Session meeting.
