“In Touch with Durham County”, a new talk show now airs daily on Cable Channel 8. This new show replaces the former Durham County Government show that viewers have enjoyed since 1991. Michael Page, Chairman of the Durham Board of County Commissioners and Assistant County Manager Deborah Craig-Ray are hosts.

The purpose of the show is to share relevant, timely information from Durham County community partner agencies, as well as provide interviews with elected officials, county department heads and key staff. Future topics include fall elections, updates on H1N1 or “swine flu” and county nonprofit agencies.

The current show features an interview with Commissioner Joe W. Bower and a segment on the Summer Youth Employment Program featuring General Services Director Mike Turner and student Kristen Daniels, who has worked in the program for three summers.
