Durham, N.C. – The Durham County
Department of Social Services (DSS) has decided to close its building located at
300 N. Duke Street due to a power outage.
The power outage occurred at noon today and continues to impact the DSS
Duke Street location. DSS at Duke
Street will officially close at 2p.m. today.
The county
continues to work closely with Duke Energy to restore power to the DSS building
on Duke Street. DSS anticipates
that it will reopen its Duke Street location tomorrow with normal operating
hours.

support such as emergency assistance for utility disconnection should call
919-560-8600.
