In Touch with Durham County
The "In Touch with Durham County Government Show" provides governmental programming and access to your local government and provides timely, ongoing coverage of Durham County Government through the Government Access Television program.
"In Touch with Durham County," a new talk show now airs daily on Cable Channel 8. This new show replaces the former Durham County Government Sho that viewers have enjoyed since 1991. Michael Page, Chairman of the Durham Board of County Commissioners and Assistant County Manager Deborah Craig-Ray are the hosts.
The purpose of the show is to share relevant, timely information from Durham County community partner agencies, as well as provide interviews with elected officials, county department heads and key staff. Future topics include fall elections, updates on H1N1 or "swine flu," and county nonprofit agencies.
Show Details
The October show features Mike Ashe, director of the Durham County Board of Elections Office, and Genesis Home Executive Director Ryan Fehrman. Fehrman explained to the hosts how Genesis Home works with families with children and young adults to end homelessness by providing housing and supportive services. Fehrman also discussed Genesis Home’s 20th anniversary and how the current economic crisis has impacted the growing need for housing-support services.
